Elnathan Taber Mahogany Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1815, painted iron Roman numeral dial, brass bezel, side ornaments flanking the waist section, crossbanded inlaid frames enclosing reverse-painted tablets, the lower depicting and marked Perry's Victory , eight-day time-only movement with T-bridge suspension, through-bolt attachment to the case, lead weight, pendulum, and painted tin weight baffle inscribed Made by E. Taber, Roxbury, Janr. 8th 1815 , ht. 41 in. Lacking pendulum bob, repainted glasses, lower pedestal added, finial and weight are not the original.
