George Elbert Burr (American, 1859-1939) Desert Night, edition of 40 (Seeber, 187). Signed and inscribed "(c) George Elbert Burr Del. et Imp." in pencil l.l., numbered "No 23/40" in pencil l.r., monogrammed and with copyright mark within the plate. Aquatint on paper, plate size 9 5/8 x 7 3/8 in. (24.4 x 18.6 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, unpressed vertical crease, not examined out of frame. Out of the frame the sheet measures 13 3/4 x 10 3/4 inches. There is mat brun and toning to the face, and corrugated staining to the verso. The verso also has black tape and an unidentified collector's stamp. The crease is nearly vertical and runs much of the height of the sheet, but is gentle.
