Walter Chappell (American, 1925-2000) White Tree, Canyon de Chelly, 1967. Signed "WALTER CHAPPELL" in pencil (on the mount) l.r., titled and dated in an inscription on the reverse of the mount. Gelatin silver print, image/sheet size 9 7/8 x 11 3/4 in. (25.0 x 29.8 cm), framed. Condition: Good. Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent. The photograph is mounted on mat board, which appears to be acid free, and which measures 16 x 19 3/4 in. The photograph and its mount are then matted using linen tape corners. There are some scattered pinpoint dots in the sky, u.r. quadrant, that may be printing flaws.
