Charles Henry Miller (American, 1842-1922) Evening Glow on the Lake Signed "C. H. Miller. N.A." l.r. Oil on canvas, 19 x 31 in. (48.3 x 78.7 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure. Painting is lined and stretched on a new stretcher. Thin lines of retouch to cover frame abrasions along both the left and right sides, with some wider areas, the larger ones measuring 3 in. x 1/2 in. along the c.r. edge and u l. corner . Other areas of retouch include: 3 or so dots in the sky u.r, the largest measuring 1/4 in. diameter; scattered small dots in the tress on the left side, on the hillside on the right, and lower center in and over the rocks. Fine overall craquelure, with the most prominent area located in center in the sky, measuring roughly 5 x 10 in. Stamped "Ann Getsinger...Mill River, MA" on the back of the frame.
