Kozan Satsuma Jar, Japan, 19th century, the oblong and rounded body finely and elaborately decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with a cartouche enclosing a spring outing scene near a fish pond to one side, and a samurai group in a landscape to the other, reserved on a group with panels of various sizes enclosing a variety of decorative motif, including children at play, antique objects, fruits and vegetables, bats, rabbits, and floral and brocade patterns, mark to the base, ht. 4 1/2 in.
