Anglo-Indian Victorian Game and Astronomical Table, 19th century, the circular inlaid top with movable bands rotating around a central panel with a chess board and a labeled map of the northern hemisphere, outer bands with astronomical facts, lunar phases, months, and continents, and the sovereigns of England since the Norman Conquest, on a foliate carved hardwood stem with six feet, ht. 27 7/8, dia. 24 1/8 in. Rings no longer rotate, top with significant loss and repair to inlay, inlay also has areas of lifting, carved support and feet with chips, nicks, and wear, and repair to tips of several leaves.
