Five Victorian Enamel Decorated Shaving Mugs, late 19th century, German and French bodies all of slightly tapered cylindrical form, with small loop handles, hand-painted in gold with owner's names, over polychrome decoration of gentlemen at a bar, a carriage passing a large house, a farrier at work, a horse-drawn trolley, and a buggy wagon, ht. 3 1/2 to 3 7/8 in. the bar room scene bearing stamp for National barber's Supply Co., Cincinnati, Ohio. this one with some wear to the gold name. all with wear to gilding of upper rim, and minor wear to gilding overall. all with plain ground except for trolley on maroon ground, and house with foliate accenting. Buggy wagon with chip to base interior-not at all visible unless turned upside-down.
