George Jones Majolica Shell Compote, England, c. 1870, polychrome enamel decorated and modeled as a large shell mounted atop a coral stand on a rocky base adorned with shells, impressed mark, ht. 8, wd. to 11 in. Firing pit to the interior about 1" down from rim (an oval firing flaw hole about 1/4" x 1/8"). light rim hairline (approx. 1" long), and a light rim glaze line. small rim chip. Age typical minor glaze crazing.
