Pair of Minton Porcelain Vase Duplessis a Tetes D'elephant , England, c. 1878, each with gilding to a bleu du roi ground with elephant handles and central oval cartouches polychrome enamel decorated with figure in a courtyard setting to the one side, a floral bouquet with fruits and berries to the reverse, impressed mark, ht. 11 1/2 in. Literature: Illustrated in Minton - The First Two Hundred Years of Design and Production , by Joan Jones, p. 86. One with a break and simply repair to a trunk of a handle; slight flake of gilding retouched to support of same trunk. One with numerous cracks throughout; old repairs to breaks at each trunk; a foot simply broken and glued.
