American Carved Pine Game Fowl-related Trade Sign, rectangular backplate set to front with white metal demilune plate cast with "William J. Morgan, Spring City, PA", with horizontal demilune mount set to sides with similar metal plates cast with "Saddle for Dubbing, Game Fowls," and suspending a pair of carved wattles, lg. 21 1/4, wd. 6 3/8 in. Note: Dubbing is the trimming or amputation of a gamecock's comb or wattle. the wattles constructed in three parts, with the edge of one part showing a small area of plaster fill approx. 3/4". scuffs and scratching throughout. finish wear. metal plates covered with a lacquered finish which has yellowed. Where around the three hanging holes at top of backplate.
