Whimsical Doulton Lambeth Blue Salt-glaze Figural Group, c. 1875, modeled by George Tinworth, entitled "The Combat", depicting two frogs riding atop two mice while battling with lances, oval base inscribed twice, ht. 3 3/4, wd. 3 3/4 in. See Richard Dennis: Doulton Ware Lambeth Art Pottery, Part II, 1975 , no. 635. Slight 1/4" flake to footrim. Slight glaze fracture to side near where legs meet.
