George III Satinwood and Fruitwood Inlaid Mahogany Lady's Desk, circa 1800, fitted with a slant lid inlaid with foliage and an oval shell, the serpentine interior fitted with inlaid small drawers, a prospect door and a felt writing surface above two frieze drawers, on square tapered legs inlaid with foliage, ht. 39 1/2, wd. 30, dp. 17 in. Top with shrinkage along crossbanding and 1 inch loss to right edge, the slant lid with minor dark spotting, interior very good condition, felt replaced; lower section with aparent burnt varnish underneath left hinge, age typical minor wear.
