Nine Silver and Silver Metal Matchsafes, late 19th/early 20th century, five American: one with girdle of entwined snakes, a border of stylized hissing dragon/snake, Rococo Revival with scrollwork and cherub busts, an unmarked scroll and flower engraved, and an Unger Brothers Art Nouveau stamped to one side with the bust of a maiden with an incense burner; one English, Birmingham, 1884; a German .800 piano forte form; and two silver metal, one with sliding lid device, the other formed as the face of a man, monograms, lg. to 2 5/8 in., approx. 6 troy oz. total. Unger Brothers with some dings to back. entwined snakes with surface wear, and some nicks and light dings. unmarked with side seam starting to split to edge of lid. wear to plating of sliding lid metal case. all with age typical minor usage wear.
