Russian Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case, Moscow, 1908-17, maker's mark untraced, rectangular, with rounded corners, lid engraved with a warrior on horseback, possibly Rurik, back side with floral and geometric decoration, interior engraved with presentation inscription in Cyrillic, and dated 1920, with red cabochon stone latch, lg. 4 5/8 in., approx. 8 troy oz. Note: Bearing copy of a letter dated 1947 from a previous owner, stating that the case was given to him in Russia in 1915. light surface scratching, and wear to red stone latch.
