Two Pairs of George III Silver Open Salts, London, one pair 1771, maker's mark SA, with beaded rim, dia. 2 1/4, the other 1776, Nathaniel Appleton and Ann Smith, makers, with rocaille rim and shell-topped feet, dia. 2 3/8, sold with a set of four mustard spoons, London, 1815, lg. 4 in., approx. 9 troy oz. total. 1776 example with engraved crest basically worn away. 1771 with inciced monogram to underside. both: marks a little worn, but still legible. overall age wear and interior surface scratching.
