French China Lady, attributed to Jacob Petit, France, c. 1840, a fine quality pink-tinted glazed porcelain shoulder head with long neck (head not removed from body to find markings), painted and molded features with light blue eyes, short painted hairstyle with exposed ears, cloth body with kid arms, wearing black silk dress and plaid silk underskirt, ht. 20 in., (excellent). excellent Richard Wright believed this doll to be Jacob Petit. the shoulder plate has been removed, and no markings are present.
