Edwardian Burlwood and Part-ebonized Games Box, early 20th century, rectangular, with hinged lid and two front doors opening to compartmented interior fitted with wood chess pieces, a set of miniature dice, chips, and various game counters, 12 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 7 in. shellaced surface. top with a small area of bubbling to veneer. the sides and back with horizontal shrinkage crack just below top edge. age typical minor wear, scratches and light edge dings. Interior of lid with two tack holes. one whist counter with a break. some contents associated (ie. chips, cards, some counters).
