Italian Baroque-style Gilt Gesso Bible Stand, mid-late 19th century, underside bearing paper Fogg Art Museum Loan label with handwritten number 2754, sloped front panel carved with a flowerhead cartouche, side gilding and painted green and red, back panel with faux green marble paint, ht. 12, wd. 14, dp. 10 3/4 in. joints loose, and looseness from shrinkage cracks to side support which will need to be reglued. shrinkage crack to back panel. chipping and losses to gesso and paint, largely to edges.
