Tall German Majolica Vase, late 19th century, with brown ground, the flaring rim molded with strapwork, with handles formed as elephant heads with Moorish riders, body of vase molded with a star and half moon badge over drapery, fluted and scrollwork stepped and flaring foot, ht. 23 5/8 in. chips to upper rim, including ones approx. 3/4", 1/2", and 1/8" footrim chips, including ones aprox. 1/2 to 1" a few small glaze flakes to body and footrim. one side with chips to man's turban and sleeve, and to elephant's ear.
