Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879) Bronze Figure of Two Whippets at Play with a Ball, Groupe de deux Levrettes a la Boule , no. 93 in Mene's catalogue, dark blackish patina, ovoid base with incised signature PJ Mene, ht. 6, base lg. 8 1/2, base wd. 4 3/4 in. dry finish. pinpoint casting hole at top of larger dog's right ear. tiny paint spatter spots to base, and with polish or paint residue in some of the crevices.
