Vienna-style Continental Porcelain Tankard, late 19th century, cylindrical, with slightly domed lid and gilt metal crown-form thumbpiece, the body painted with a panel depicting Venus presenting Helen to Paris, on gilt surround, with cobalt blue ground, the lid painted with scene of classical maidens disarming Cupid, and interior of lid with a seated shepherdess, ht. 6 1/2 in. approx. 3 spots of loss to the raised gilt decoration. minor gilt wear. with blue "beehive" mark.
