Buffett, Colchester, with flat top hood, waist door with marquetry inlay and oval pendulum aperture, veneered case sides with banded inlay, cut-out bracket base, 11 in. composite brass dial, applied chapter ring with Roman numerals and quarter hour marks, seconds bit, recessed date dial, half moon name boss engraved In. Buffett Colchester , engraved and matted center and cast brass spandrels, eight-day time and rack strike five-pillar movement, pendulum and weights, ht. 80 in. Case in fragile condition and requires extensive restoration, dial door removed from the hood, losses to molding segments and veneer, tin cased weights probably replacements, period pendulum, hands, dial components and seating board.
