10-inch Radius Ebony Octant by Spencer Browning & Company, London, with brass sliding index arm, bone scale divided 0-105, vernier scale indexed 0-20, thumb screw adjustment and lock, brass sighting pinnula, mirror, shades, maker's plaque marked Spencer, Browning & Co. , London and mahogany carrying case with remains of printed label. Two missing brass feet, brass in oxidized condition, bone scale cracked on one end and 1/4 in. segment gone on vernier, one hinge area broken on box.
