Mahogany No. 3 Regulator by Howard and Davis, Boston, c. 1860, square box case with half-rounded moldings framing reverse-painted black and gold tablets, 9 in. painted iron dial with Roman numerals and marked Howard & Davis Boston , eight-day time and alarm, brass weight-powered movement with unmarked damascened plates, lead weight and wooden pendulum rod and brass bob, ht. 38 1/4 in. Black background on glasses renewed; bezel glass cracked; alarm train and weight now gone, but iron weight baffle for the alarm weight still intact, case box reglued, replacement glue block, object right box backboard beading damaged, period time weight, pendulum, hands, undisturbed dial and movement.
