Brass Theodolite by Troughton & Simms and an Unmarked Transit, the theodolite with 5 in. dia. silvered dial signed Troughton & Simms London , cardinal points in block letters, horizontal circle calibrated 0-360 and read with two verniers, calibrated vertical arch with thumbscrew adjustment and lock, spirit level and 8 in. telescope, ht. 12; together with a small transit with silvered horizontal and vertical rings with magnifiers, spirit levels, and 7 1/2 in. telescope, ht. 9 1/2 in.; together with two sheet brass bookends decorated with galleons, ht. 5 1/2 in. Theodolite complete and in old lacquered surface, the transit, in tarnished condition.
