Brass Surveyor's Compass by Benjamin Pike, Jr. , New York, with 5 1/2 in. dia. silvered brass dial signed Benj. Pike, Jr. 294 Broadway N.Y. , compass bearings in block letters with fleur-de-lis at North, ribband decoration around the blued steel hand support, needle ring engraved 0-90 in four quadrants, the limb with vernier scale and spirit levels, screw-on sights, tripod mount, all in a fitted mahogany box with 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 in. printed maker's label inside the lid, lg. 15 in. Complete and no significant repairs or replacements, some loss and discoloration on maker's label.
