Eight-Day Marine Chronometer by John Poole, London, the three-tier ebonized case with brass inlay, corners and carrying handles, lacquered brass gimbals and bowl, 4 3/4 in. dia. silvered Roman numeral dial marked in part, John Poole, Maker to the Admiralty, 57 Fenchurch St. London, 5106 , seven day "Up-Down" indicator, second's bit, gold hands and eight-day split plate movement with chain drive fusee, helical hairspring, split balance with adjustment screws and brass weights, spring detent escapement, components stamped 5106 and key, ht. 9 in., boxed. slight imperfections on case, finish showing surface cracks, un-marked bone plate on case front lacking small segment of corners, components with original lacquering, movement cleaned, running, presently corked.
