Chinese carved cinnabar lidded dresser box of rectangular form with lid decorated with scholar and younger student with looking at scroll in an outdoor setting with stylized rocks and a large pine tree on diaper patterned ground with swastika (Buddhist symbol for auspiciousness) within diamond, edges of top and bottom portion of container with diamond motif. Unmarked. Approximate height 2", width 5.75", depth 4".
