Tchelitchew" on the stretcher, stamped "DOUANES/PARIS/EXHIBITION" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 25 1/2 x 19 3/4 in. (64.8 x 50.2 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime, craquelure. Provenance: Gift from the artist; by family descent to the present owner. N.B. We wish to thank Erik La Prade for his kind assistance with cataloguing the lot. Alligatoring to l.l. quadrant, craquelure throughout, surface grime, scattered minor losses less than 1/8 x 1/8 in., dashes of older retouch in l.l. quadrant, varnish inconsistencies, title and inscription probably in the artist's hand.
