James Abbott McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) Bibi Lalouette, 1859, second state of two (Kennedy, 51). Signed and dated in the plate, identified on a label from Frederick Keppel & Co., Inc., New York, on the reverse. Etching on paper, plate size 9 x 6 in. (22.8 x 15.2 cm), framed. Condition: Subtle toning, not examined out of frame. Out of the frame the work is sandwiched between the facing and backing mats, but the sheet is rippled, so it is not fully laid down.
