Inro and Netsuke, Japan, 19th century, lacquered four-case intro with takamaki-e and hiramaki-e ornament, of arhats studying scripture under the pine tree on one side, and performing ritual ceremony on the other, signature on the base, together with a carved wood ojime , signed and with red kakihan , and an ivory netsuke in the shape of a seated child holding a horse-head toy, lg. 3 1/8, 1 3/4 in.
