Carnelian Agate Vase and Cover, China, of archaic hu shape, the stone of predominantly rich orange tone with semi-translucent areas of gray and opaque creamy-white, carved in high relief of prunus branch to one side, the upper shoulder flanked by a pair of dragon-head handles suspending loose rings, the cover surmounted by a foo dog, ht. 11 1/4 in. Minor chip to the foot ring, minor loss to the cover.
