Two Wedgwood Hand-painted Queen's Ware Spanish-shaped Plates, England, c. 1875, each polychrome enameled, one with depiction of dogs by a lake titled on the reverse in French "Les deux Chiens et L'Ane mort"; the other with a figure of Jupiter surrounded by animals, titled on the reverse "La Besace," from Aesop's fables; artist monogram and impressed marks, dia. 9 3/8 in. Dog plate: several rim chips on the back edge.; slight glaze scratches. Jupiter plate: In very good condition.
