Arabic Christian Icon of the Holy Family, likely Melkite, early 19th century, the Virgin and Joseph holding small lilies, the Christ child with hand raised in blessing, 18 x 13 1/4 in. Painted on a fabric surface laid onto board, with the fabric now lifting, causing significant craquelure throughout. Losses to fabric and paint to lower corners and right edge, with lower right corner loose off of board. some rubbing to gilding. surface scratches to Madonna's face.
