First edition, series from the work, (1799-1808), complete in 127 volumes. With engraved portrait frontispiece in vol. 1 and 79 copper-plate engravings of fish eggs, fish, and fossil fish after Buffon throughout (80 total). Rubbing to boards; bookseller's inventory sticker to foot of spine, vol. 1; scattered brownspotting.
