Thai bronze Sukhothai style figural sculpture head depicting Buddha with calm facial features including an elongation and graceful curving of ears, eye brows, nose, eyes, and lips. Figure with flame-like protuberance at top of head (believed to allow stronger mental capacities). Buddha with urna with tightly coiled forms. Hollow patinated bronze head raised on later wooden base (easily removable if desired). Overall (on base) approximate height 16.7", width 4.2", depth 4.2". Bronze head height approximately 11.6".
