the case of rectangular form with rounded corners, the cover inscribed Zuo Zong Tang, Hong Shu Tang Cang and with cyclical date mark corresponding to 1887, the reverse of the base with a four-character Guangxu mark in gilt within a cartouche, containing an inkstone with a border of carved scrolled clouds, an inscription to the reverse and inscribed Jiaqing with cyclical date mark corresponding to the year 1800, sixth month, second day.
