“Cupid’s Fountain” French, No. 914, circa 1860 Unusual bronze and glass hour and half-hour striking eight day going table clock with automaton waterfall Fountain form, rectangular upper section with gilt acanthus frieze over torch pillars surmounted by Cupid and a rose bouquet with single automaton rose attached to the pendulum, centered by gilt cat-tail wreath bezel over Bacchic mask fountain head with swirling glass water automata flowing into a gilt basin with two silver gilt swans over base with glass drawer raised on achantocladdus feet. Gilt with radial Roman chapter ring with central ground winding holes. Blued steel “Breguet” hands Round gilt brass with hammer striking on gong, anchor escapement, count wheel on the back plate, single hammer striking on a bell, pendulum with sillk suspension separate going train for the automaton waterfall.
