THOS. BIDLAKE, ASHBURTON, 22K GOLD REPOUSSE CASED POCKET WATCH Thos. Bidlake, Ashburton, No. 195. The inner case with London hallmarks for 1814. Fine, 22K gold, repoussé pair-cased pocket watch with fusee barrel and verge escapement. Outer: two-body hinged, repoussé classic scene to the reverse, foliate decorated bezel. Inner: two-body, "bassine", polished, master mark probably RP. Gold, engine-turned center with Roman numerals on a plain reserve, outer minutes. Blued steel serpent hands 33 mm, hinged, gilt full-plate with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved cock with diamond end-stone, silver regulation dial. Movement signed. Diam. 46 mm. Notes Thomas Bidlake is listed to be active sarting 1792.
