Doves & Flowers Bovet, Fleurier, No. 3116. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1870. Fine, silver gilt and painted on enamel, pearl-set, centerseconds pocket watch with mirror-polished movement and Jacot duplex escapement. Three-body, "Empire", the back enamel panel painted with a bouquet of early summer flowers and a pair of white doves, turquoiseblue ground, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split-pearls. Giltrimmed glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds divisions, outer Arabic fifteen-minute/seconds numerals. Blued steel flower hands. Mirrorpolished steel, Chinese caliber with free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel "wings”, blued steel flat balance-spring, index regulator. Movement signed. Diam. 55 mm.
