The Musician French. Made circa 1850. Fine, small, gilt bronze hour and half-hour striking mantel clock. Square plinth housing the movement with paterae at each corner, beaded base, surmounted by a musical score on a lectern, a guitar on a stool to the left, the figure of a gentleman playing the flute to the right. Dended base with applied dolphin mounts, raised on conical feet. hite enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Steel Breguet hands. 70 mm., brass, circular plates, spring barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with brass bob, outside countwheel striking on a bell. Dim. 26 x 19 x 8 cm.
