Italian (Venetian), 20th century. A set of four Italian Queen Anne style walnut side chairs with narrow elongated backs and beige velvet upholstered seats with white diamond stitching, each comprising a compressed oxbow crest with steeply dipped center, flanked by molded scrolls, the vasiform splat with pierced diamond with canted top edge over smaller pierced diamond with scalloped edges, the molded curved stiles, joined to a stay rail with pointed edges, over the seat with cyma curved sides and serpentine front edge, the seat rail with molded cyma curved scrolls, raised on cabriole front legs with carved tripartite shell motifs at knees, joined to raking back legs by a molded H stretcher. Approximate height 43.75", width 19.5", depth 19.5", seat to floor 20.25".
