Hubert) Sarton à Liège, Belgium, circa 1800. Unusual eight day weight driven mantle regulator. The movement is supported by twin gilt bronze tapered columns, secured by knurled knobs and set on a mahogany circular base and protected by a glass dome. White enamel, regulator type, with outer Arabic minute ring, small eccentric hour Roman chapter an symmetrical seconds ring (hair lines). Blued steel hands and gilt counterpoised minute hands. Polished brass, with side winding, pin-wheel anchor escapement, half second beating pendulum with spring blade suspension (modified) and mercury compensation. Dial signed. In good condition with some alterations. Dim. 50 cm. high.
