John Dyson & Sons, Leeds, Watchmaker to the Admiralty, No. 77097, with Chester hallmarks for 1896. Very fine 18 ct. gold, early centre seconds keyless pocket chronometer with 34 minute Karrusel regulator. Three body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished, marked "J.H." (John Hewitt), the back engraved with a monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with sunk centre, Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel "pear" hands. Notes Note: This watch has the unusual feature of a slide in the band for the purpose of stopping the centre seconds band without stopping the watch.
