Houriet & Fils, Swiss, circa 1810. Unusua118 ct. gold, skeleton watch, Three body, Empire with reeded band, the back polished. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals. Blued steel "scotties" bands. Skeletonised gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chair, verge escapement, plain gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring, small skeletonised 1/4 gilt brass cock with ruby endstone. The front and the back plate are skeletonised in such a way the main part of the movement is clearly visible, including the escapement. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm. Notes Being set between the plates, the functions of the verge escapement are usually difficult to observe. The movement of this watch has been finely skeletonised, the remainding parts of the plates with a fine floral decoration over a matt ground.
