George Graham, London, No. 5867, circa 1740. Importante orologio da tasca in oro, diamanti e agata Notes George Graham, emminente orologiaio, nato nel 1673, apprendista nel 1688, entrd a far parte della Clockmakers Company nel 1695; divenne Maestro della C.C. nel 1722 e mors nel 1751. Considerato tra i più importanti orologiai inglesi, inventà Io scappamento a cilindro e il pendolo bimetallico a griglia. Fù apprendista da Thomas Tompion del quale divenne socio dal 1711 al 1713 circa. Continuò la sua attività dopo la morte di Tompion. Tutti e due sono sepolti nell'Abbazia di Westminster.
