Romilly à Paris, circa 1775. Fine 18 ct. three coloured gold, quarter repeating watch. Double body, Louis XVI, the back chased with a scene depicting a courting couple in a garden with outer floral and ribbon knot decoration. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring ( slightly chipped on the border of the winding hole). Gold Louis XV diamond-set hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm-balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass Louis XVI continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 45 mm.
