Auburnade Rotary, Massachusset, No. 319, made in 1877. Rare and interesting nickel watch with revolving movement. Contemporary nickel, glazed on both faces. White enamel with Roman numerals (hair line). Blued steel "spade" hands. 8-, nickel, lever set, special calibre, 4 jewels, straight line lever escapement, plain three-arm balance flat balance spring. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm. Notes Apparently, one thousand examples of this watch were started in 1877, of which only five hundred and ten were finished. An identical watch from The Time Museum, Rockford, Illinois, is described and illustrated by Donald R. Hoke, in The Time Museum Historical Catalogue of American Pocket Watches, 1991, p. 242, No. 218.
