Charles E. Jacot, No. 300 circa 1855. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold hunting cased watch with 1/3 second "diablotine". Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", engineturned. Gold cuvette engine-turned on the border. White enamel with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and "foudroyante". GiIt and blued steel hands. Notes Very fine example of watch with the rare star wheel duplex escapement, signed by its inventor. Previously in the collection of The Time Museum, this watch was sold by Sotheby's in New York on 11 December 1986, lot 361 of the catalogue.
