Munson(American, 19th c.) - New York fork art full-length oil on canvas portrait of a girl, ca.1847, wearing a red dress, holding a basket of flowers in her left hand and a flower in her right hand, the foreground with a hat and an urn, the backround with a boat on a lake, inscribed verso, "J.S. Munson Painter, Catharine H. Johnson, aged 5 1/2 years, 1847", 49" x 38 3/4", together with an oil on canvas of her homestead and the family bible. Provenance: Descended in the family until purchased by the present owner.
